Berlyn B. Robbins
Visitation: Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. at the Schipper Funeral Home.
Funeral: Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home with burial to follow at Sherwood Cemetery.
Berlyn B. Robbins age 96 of Sherwood, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Thurston Woods Village.
Berlyn was born on July 1, 1922 at his family’s farm in Sherwood a son to the late Vernon and Iva (Bathrick) Robbins.
On March 14, 1942 he married his wife of 76 years, Doris J. Thrams.
He had farmed his entire life and always wanted to be known for being 3 things; a Farmer, a Politician, and a family man, but jokingly never specified in which order. Berlyn also served the community of Sherwood for 36 years. He served 10 years as a township trustee and 26 years as township supervisor.
Berlyn had made his home in Sherwood on the family farm his whole life.
Berlyn was a member of the Sherwood Free Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Sherwood Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Doris Robbins, a son Lynn (Mary) Robbins of Lexington, KY, a daughter Connie (John) Haven of Grayling, Michigan, 6 grand children and 9 great grand children.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Cheryl DeWeerd, several brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD in Colon. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home, with Pastor Daryl Dexter officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Robbins and Lynn, I’m so sorry to hear of Mr. Robbins passing away. I always think of him with a grin on his face. Everything seemed to delight him. So many years given to support 4-H in Branch County. Lynn, I will always remember the 4 of us going to D.C. Many fond memories of your family. Thinking of you all at this time of loss.

We enjoyed your stories about your polictical endeavors and getting to know you through church and our Thursday lunches. Missed you when you no longer could get out. God will set a table for you in heaven.
