Visitation: Sunday, September 22, 2019 starting a 1 PM and Monday, September 23, 2019 all day at the Allen Yoder Residence 26798 Wasepi Road, Centreville, MI 49032
Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 9:30 AM with home ministers officiating, burial will follow at Old Order Amish Cemetery in Centreville. Services will also be at the Allen Yoder residence.
Marie Catherine Bontrager, 89 of Centreville passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 surrounded by her family at her daughter Orvin and Miriam Bontrager’s residence.
Marie was born February 19, 1930 a daughter of the late William N. and Lydiaann (Miller) Bontrager.
On February 9, 1950 she married Ezra J. Bontrager. They lived most their lives together in the Centreville area where she was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Marie is survived by three sons, Marvin (Alma) Bontrager of Nappanee, IN, William (Rosanna) Bontrager of Leonidas, and Freeman (Ella Mae) Bontrager of Sturgis, four daughters, Lydia (Harvey) Hochstetler of Colon, Sylvia (Marvin) Yoder of Colon, Miriam (Orvin) Bontrager of Colon, and Marie (Allen) Yoder of Centreville, 34 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Leroy Bontrager of Hicksville, OH, and Samuel (Bessie) Bontrager of Nappanee, IN, 2 brother in laws Ezra (Mary) Gingerich of Millersburg, IN, Levi (Esther) Hostetler of Shipshewanna, IN, 1 Sister in law Anna Bontrager of Centreville, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, one infant daughter, one grandson, one infant great granddaughter three sisters, Bertha, Pauline, and Alta, 1 brother Alva, and 3 in laws.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Allen Yoder residence located at 26798 Wasepi Road, Centreville, MI 49032 Sunday, September 22, 2019 starting at 1:00 PM and all-day Monday, September 23, 2019. Funeral Services will also be held at Allen Yoder’s residence Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 9:30 AM with home ministers officiating. Burial will follow at Old Order Amish Cemetery in Centreville. The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home LTD.
