Gerald “Jerry” S. Waters
A private graveside service will be held at Leonidas Cemetery.
Gerald (Jerry) Steven Waters, age 62, of Colon, Mich., passed away March 24, 2020 at home, unexpectedly, but after a long illness.
He was born October 15, 1957 in Richmond, Indiana, son of Roger Waters and Jacqueline (Ayers) Waters.
Jerry grew up in Winchester, Indiana, and moved to Michigan when he was 18, where he completed his General Education Development.
Jerry married Cherri (Bennett) Waters on November 24, 1979 and lived in Leonidas for many years. They had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, but they remained friends.
Jerry worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed watching Nascar, and attended many races. He also enjoyed working on cars. He loved his family and enjoyed time with his grandkids, and loved his dogs.
Jerry is survived by his long-time partner, Tina Heath, three daughters, Angela (Todd) Bauer of Fort Wayne, Ind., Amy Waters of Leonidas, and Stacy (Jason) Schwenk of Centreville; five grandchildren, several step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two siblings, David Waters and Kristi (Waters) King.
Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie, and his mother.
The family will have a private memorial, which will be held at Leonidas Cemetery.

Jerry has been a life long friend and was my brother in law!!! So many memories of this man I can laugh and cry!!! When we was kids at Halloween the church had a party and Jerry could out Bob anyone on apples !! He marry Cheri and they stayed in my life and watching his girl grow and becoming beautiful young ladies!! Once Jerry new his brother worked second shift he puts a fire crackers in the kitchen window!! That thing went off and his brother went flying out the door !! I saw someone running but I didn’t tell David for he was mad !!! Jerry comes by and David told him what happened and Jerry was doubled over laughing saying oh shit !!! Another time he flys in our drive he out ran the cops at 140 miles an hour !! He took his shoes off and his socks stood straight up !!! I have always loved Jerry and he will be missed !! Amy and Stacy along with your mom I Love you all always will Aunt Connie ♥️♥️???
