Caroline V. (Schwartz) Bivvins age 87 of Colon passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her home.
Caroline was born June 24, 1933 in Monroe, Indiana a daughter to the late Samuel L. and Anne E. (Eicher) Schwartz.
Caroline had lived in Indiana early in life, moving to Michigan in 1962.
On October 26, 1952 she married Melvin B. Schwartz, he preceded her in death January 10, 1996. On August 10, 1997 she married Olin A. Bivvins and he preceded her in death May 29, 2006
Caroline was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and was a member of the New Beginnings Church of Sturgis.
Many people may remember her from when she worked at the Holiday Inn and Mr. Donut in Sturgis.
She is survived by her children; Edward (Sharon) Schwartz of Three Rivers, Carol Baker of Colon, Cheryl (Stan) Crippin of Three Rivers, Brenda Wickey of Sturgis, Ron (Irit) Schwartz of Dallas, TX, Lennie Schwartz of Colon, Valerie (John) McCartney of Colon and Kip (Linda) Schwartz of Colon, 32 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, brother Laverne (Frankie) Schwartz of Grabill, IN, sister, Edna(Ernest) Troyer of Monroe, IN three sister-in-laws; Josephine Schwartz and Lavina Schwartz both of Monroe, IN, and Lydia Mae Schwartz of Nottawa, brother-in-law Joe B.(Rosa) Schwartz of Grabill, IN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; Joe, Sylvan, Melvin and Ben Schwartz, two son-in-law’s Tim Baker and Mike Wickey, daughter-in-law Karen Schwartz and three grand and great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends at New Beginnings Church in Sturgis, Michigan, on Sunday from l:00 to 3:00 P.M. with funeral services celebrating the life of Caroline V. Bivvins at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Findley. If desired memorials may be made in memory of Caroline to the New Beginnings Church. Envelopes will be available at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon or at the Church the day of the service.
Due to COVID-19 there will not be a fellowship meal after the service. However, if you would like to bring your lawn chair and a sack lunch and join us at the New Beginnings Church. We will be having a time of fellowship outside following the funeral service
