Linda Ann Eastman age 70 of Colon passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home.
Linda was the daughter of the late Robert and Arline Brown. Linda was born on August 25, 1950. She was a 1969 graduate of Colon High School. Linda’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a professional singer and entertainer for more than 25 years in the Colon, Japan, and San Francisco Bay area. Linda met her husband Donald in the fall on 1971 and they were married on April 20, 1972. Their marriage would last 48 years and 11 months. Linda worked as a security guard at the Michigan Corrections office, and taught one semester of music at the Howe Military Academy, and music, math and science at the Heartwood Renaissance Academy.
Linda attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Colon and served as a member of the church counsel, as well as participated in many church programs.
Linda served as past president of the Colon American Legions Women’s Auxiliary.
Linda supported the Colon band and many sports programs. She was an active member of the En Gedi Christian Music Festival committee, as well as a member of the St. Joseph County SERT Team, the Colon Downtown Development Authority, and in November was elected to the Village Council.
Linda is survived today by her husband Donald Eastman of Colon, 3 children: Shannon, Heather, and Colin, 1 sister Laura (Danny) Parsons, 2 brothers: Robert (Carol) Brown, and James (Margret) Brown, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 nephews, and 2 nieces.
The Eastman Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11-1 AM at the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. A funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 1 PM on Thursday with pastor David Grimm officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences can be left at Schipperfuneralhome.com

Linda was a tremendous teacher. I am so thankful for the impact she had on my son while he attended Heartwood Renaissance Academy. She will be missed.

We are very sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. She was a great teacher, always fun, and a kind person in the truest sense. Linda Eastman will never be in a bad memory.
