I am so sorry for you loss. Aunt Betty was my Godmother and I cherish the fond memories from my childhood. This is Rich Scheuermann, son of Gloria. If I was not currently living in California and just now learned of her passing, I would have tried to attend the funeral. Please know my prayers are with you and my dear Aunt Betty.
As a child,we (my sisters and I) used to walk to Wicker Park in Highland during the summer to go swimming. On the way back we used to stop at Betty’s house and she always provided us with watermelon and cooked us a lunch too. Betty was also caring for her mother, our Grandmother. It was great to be able to visit with both our grandmother and aunt at the same time. Betty was always so kind and welcoming. I can still perfectly visualize sitting in her kitchen as she fed us. Her kindness and the care/compassion she showed for her mother was so inspiring. I also recall the conversations with Uncle Marion about our beloved Cubs – Cubs fans needed to console each other.
I feel so blessed and grateful that she was wonderful part of my childhood that I will never forget. Again condolences and prayers.
Godson,
Rich Scheuermann

I just learned of the passing of Aunt Betty. Growing up in Munster (her sister Gloria’s son), I always enjoyed my visits to her house in Highland. Her and Marion were so welcoming and kind, always a treat to visit with. And I do recall them being good dancers!
I cherish those times.
Love and prayers to her and her family.
