Michael J. Carr

Visitation: Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Schipper Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 12:00 PM also at the Schipper Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Kewell officiating. Cremation will take place following his service. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Burr Oak Cemetery in Athens, MI.

Michael J. Carr age 64 of Sherwood, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Laurels of Coldwater.

Mike was born February 26, 1959, in Coldwater a son to the late William A. and Emma June (Jackson) Carr.

He had lived and worked on the family farm his whole life and had especially enjoyed his herd of sheep.  He graduated from Colon High School with the Class of 1977.

Mike had attended the Athens United Methodist Church.

Mike liked socializing in restaurants, enjoying his pets, and relaxing on his front porch. Christmas time was a favorite of his, and he always loved having a big Christmas tree.

Mike is survived by 2 brothers, Terry L. (Cheryl) Carr of Sherwood and Roger Carr of Litchfield, several nieces and nephews and close friend Sheila.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Thomas, David, and Robert Carr.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Harold Kewell officiating.  If desired Memorials may be made in memory of Mike to the St. Jude Children Hospital.  Cremation will follow, private burial of ashes will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery in Athens, MI. at a later date.
