Timothy W. Baker age 66 of Colon passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at his home.
Tim was born August 25, 1952 in Atlanta, GA a son to Elmer L. Baker and Marilyn Gailhouse.
After graduating from High School Tim joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1971 to 1975.
On November 14, 1971 he married Carol J. Schwartz in Colon.
He had lived at his present address since 1977 and had worked as a Journeyman Mill Right with Docks Foundries in Three Rivers for 35 years retiring in 2013.
Tim loved the out of doors, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, restoring old cars, and had collected cameras.
He is survived by his wife Carol J. Baker of Colon, mother Marilyn Gailhouse of Mendon, two daughters; Judy C. Baker and Dave Lafontaine of Colon and Tracy M. (James) Coker of Sturgis, eight grandchildren, two brothers; Larry (Virginia) Baker of Florida, and Don Eley of Florida, five sisters; Beverly (Jim) Currier of Sturgis, Brenda Gailhouse of Boston, MA, Lana Koole of Schoolcraft, Suzie (Stewart) Louis of Three Rivers and Janet Reitz of Portage, and several nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Elmer L. Baker, step-mother Marie Baker and step-dad Henry Gailhouse.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the New Beginnings Church, 63022 M-66, Sturgis, MI 49091. A memorial service will then take place at 3:00 P.M. at the church with pastors Randy Evans and Leroy Detwiler officiating. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Leonidas Cemetery. The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home LTD in Colon.
