Who We Are

The home was a doctors office where Dr.Godfrey worked for sixty years. Prior to Schipper Funeral Home, it was known as Austin Funeral Home and Phelps Funeral Home. Ted and Helen Schipper purchased the home from Mrs. Phelps in August of 1957 after the death of her husband. The Schipper’s youngest son Tod received his Mortuary Science degree from Wayne State University and began working with his father in 1982. In 2017, Tod’s son Tyler graduated with his Mortuary Science degree from Worsham College and has joined his father in business.
